Pre Cruise car rental ?

We are arriving in FLL about 9am day before our cruise. I was planning on renting a car at the airport and returning off airport and taxi to port. Anyone familiar with the area.....for $15 with Thrifty could rent car and return at 2400 Miami Road, Ft Lauderdale is this location doable, not recommended, any suggestions?

 

Also, we are staying at Hilton Marina...would it be easier to just taxi to hotel and use water taxi

As commonly discussed here, it is very easy and inexpensive to taxi to your hotel, and use the water taxi to see FLL. Then taxi or hotel shuttle to the port the next day. Its a wash probably on costs versus the rental car, but you don't have the hassle of dealing with the rental.

Cruiserbruce your right. After I weighed it out why deal with a rental. Guess I just wanted a second opinion [emoji6]
