wheezedr Posted July 6, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 6, 2016 This would best be asked on the Holland-Amarica board rather than under ports of call.
hrhdhd Posted July 6, 2016 #3 Share Posted July 6, 2016 You may be looking at outdated information; HAL hasn't had informal nights since before 2009 and they recently ditched the formal nights in favor of what they're calling "Gala Nights." From the website: "Most evenings smart casual attire is appropriate. Shorts, pool/beachwear, distressed jeans and men’s tank tops are best left to the daytime and are not permitted in fine dining restaurants. Gala Nights evoke the grand traditions of cruising as guests dress to impress for special events on board, including our five-course gourmet dinner in the Dining Room. For gentlemen, collared shirts and slacks are required in all fine dining restaurants."
templandgirl Posted July 7, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted July 7, 2016 Thanks for the advice. I am going to be on a private charter cruise on a Holland America ship, and I'm told they have two 'formal nights' three 'informal', and two smart casual, so just trying to work out what to pack.
