Disembarkation With Carry On Luggage Only

Recommended Posts

We've always done walk off. If you can carry your own bags, you can do it. Just fill out the card and it is easy as can be. The main advantage is that we have usually been first off the ship, thru immigration and on our way before there might be a problem.

In Australia, someone fell and broke their hip while getting off the ship and it held up several of my friends for hours. So, it is good if you can do it and want to do it. Happy sailing.

...Of course you have to be able to handle your suitcases down ramps and/or stairs if the elevators are full. :(

Something to think about when booking your cabin. If you plan to do a walk-off, then you might want to consider a lower deck. Even the stairs can be a problem at disembarkation as the crowds waiting for the elevators can spill up against the stairwells.

Earlier this year we were on a different cruise line and were able to disembark first due to not having any checked luggage. We will be on the Ruby Princess in September and wondering if this is how it works with Princess as well. Is it standard among all cruise lines?

Disembarkation at Pier 91 in Seattle will normally start between 7:15-7:30am and with no baggage, you will probably be scheduled in one of the early walk-off groups. You will probably be through customs and in front of the terminal building well prior to 8am. In fact, you may very well be away from the pier by 8am. :p
