Flight after cruise

I was just wondering I have read some posts here already but trying to decide on my flight home after we disembark the cruise. We are on the Gem in October and I know NCL is going back to San Juan but currently has no ships there but we disembark on a Sunday and only one other ship disembarks this day, I have only cruised from Florida so wondering with San Juan and from your experience whether we do easy walk off or get a lower luggage # if ship is cleared in decent time, what time is the earliest should we consider looking for a flight out of SJU? any feedback is appreciated
