cruisejess Posted July 17, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 17, 2016 I have a quick question. I just returned from my fourth Royal cruise since January of this year. Collectedly I have around 20000 points for the year with two additional cruises planned. I received another certificate that I will be unable to use before it expires on January 1, 2017. So my question is, has anyone had any luck extending the discount? Also, would I be considered a high roller or just a middle of the road member? I have never used the certificates for a "free" cruise but have taken the money off and upgraded to Jr. Suites or Grand Suites. Thanks for your help! Daghis Posted July 17, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 17, 2016 I had a certificate that was due to expire in September (and had to be booked by April). I called them up and they were apple to apply the certificate value to a cruise I have booked in March 2017. Give them a call... the worst that could happen is that they'd say "No." I can't comment about what kind of status you'd have. With their program being in transition, all we know is that there are old school "VIP" members and "everyone else", but it's not clear exactly how benefits differ between the two groups. cruisejess Posted July 18, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted July 18, 2016 I was able to apply the certificate to a sailing in February 2017. I am still confused by the limbo program as I was an "old school" member of Club Royal. Truthfully I feel like I should have chosen NCL or Carnival for my play this year. We are sailing on Royal again in September, but I may cancel our December Anthem trip. I get no emails, so I feel like I am also missing out on additional promos and it is difficult to try to get them when on the phone with a Club rep. I am sure we all wish they would get their act together and there was some consistency.
DianeandMark Posted July 19, 2016 #4 Share Posted July 19, 2016 I have to say I'm totally confused with Club Royale. I requested a quote on a cruise for February 2017 on Radiance and their price when taking into account the exchange rate (US to AUD) was significantly more than booking through the Royal Caribbean website. After ringing Club Royale I was informed they no longer have access to gambling rates for cruises taken after 15 March. The casino manager on my April cruise suggested I would be entitled to significant discounts on my next cruise. I can only assume that players from Australia don't enjoy the same perks as others. Time to try another cruise line maybe. Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app
Daghis Posted July 20, 2016 #5 Share Posted July 20, 2016 (edited) If I'm understanding your post correctly, you last talked with them prior to March 15, 2016. If that's the case, then I'm not surprised there was confusion because they were told that the old program was going away and that a new program would be in place by then. Of course, the new program hasn't come to light yet, but they seem to be better about handling casino rates for bookings and for the multitude of free/discounted cruise certificates that they're handing out onboard now. I'd suggest that perhaps you give them a call again to see whether things are clearer now. Edited July 20, 2016 by Daghis

My rate of play allowed me to be offered a Free Cruise certificate which I used in April. The ship, Legend of the Seas, had no casino host but the manager told me certificates were not being issued as the program was changing. As there would be no RC ships in Aus til November I was given a business card with details and was told to ring or email to find out my entitlements. According to the manager I would be eligible for a balcony according to my play Anyway it turns out that what they offered me is dearer than just booking through the normal RC website. Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app They told me yesterday they have no information regarding my April cruise.
