Does princess insurance cover this?

If I book a hotel with a nonrefundable rate and have to cancel, will Princess cover? Thanks,

Princess insurance only covers things you purchase from them but not for independently booked travel such as a hotel nonrefundable rate. If booking a lot of your trip independently (airfare, hotels, cars, tours) you'd have to book an independent insurance policy to have it covered.

We always used Insure My Trip. Now age has upped the cost significantly. The Princess policy covers enough basics for the price. Our next cruise is Mexico. It's pretty close ref emergencies. I'm comfortable with this plan. Not sure what will work for a longer cruise.

Blessings.

You can always insure the cruise with the Princess insurance and purchase a separate, smaller policy to cover hotels, transfers, etc. that aren't purchased through the cruise line. They don't cost too much even with the age differential.
