Rare Wanna_Cruize Posted July 19, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 19, 2016 DH and & both got a bounce-back offer from our Alaska cruise we just returned from. Thinking of taking our adult son with us over the Christmas holidays, since this is the first time we could get two cabins free. DS is not sure he can find a friend a) who is willing to miss Christmas with their family and b) that he can stand to be cooped up with in a cabin for a week. Does anyone know what happens if you use a BounceBack offer on a cabin solo? Do you just have to pay the port fees & taxes for the 2nd cabin, since there isn't any cabin cost. We're NOT going to upgrade our cabin this time, since we're going to have to pay a lot for airfare during the holidays anyway, I'm just trying to make sure what will happen if 1 cabin only ends up with 1 person. We have until Final Payment (Oct) to add a person, but I don't want to go through adding a person who will not actually be going, unless it is better to do a 'Oops, guess they couldn't make it after all' type thing. Rare Wanna_Cruize Posted July 19, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted July 19, 2016 Thanks for replying so quickly. I thought that would be the case, but my pvp wasn't 100% sure.
MURCOTT Posted April 16, 2017 #4 Share Posted April 16, 2017 I go solo all the time on bounce backs. Only pay port and taxes for one person Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app Does any one know if this is still the case? Not quite a bargain if solos have to pay port charges and taxes for two.
Rare lazydayz Posted April 17, 2017 #5 Share Posted April 17, 2017 I would just call the number on the BB certificate tomorrow. They will be able to answer your question. Let us know what you find out.
maryred Posted April 17, 2017 #6 Share Posted April 17, 2017 Just remember the person offered the BB cruise needs to be in the cabin, at least for booking purposes, to get the tax & Fee only casino rate for the first 2 passenger in the booking. IN your case that means one of you must be booked with your son and the other booked solo (or with the friend) for the second cabin that both cabins are at the BB rate. Once on board you can get door only keys to the each cabin as long the primary passenger (together) from each booking goes to the CS desk for the copies. BUT in your case if your son does not sail, you will be stuck with the second cabin. If you book the seond cabin for your son with a possible TBA passenger, that cabin will be at whatever the current rate or sale is for your son's VIFP or casino level and subject to that booking rate's terms.
