renza Posted July 19, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 19, 2016 Do the balconies open up together?
Rare blackwing Posted July 19, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 19, 2016 Yes, you can ask your cabin steward to open the divider. Be aware, there are some here who say it is "not allowed" because of fire code, but we didn't have an issue.

You make it sound like it's our fault that we give out proper information about NCL's regulations. Opening dividers has been forbidden fleet wide by NCL HQ, plain and simple. renza Posted July 20, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted July 20, 2016 That stinks. All the other cruise lines do it.
wdsted Posted July 20, 2016 #5 Share Posted July 20, 2016 We didn't have an issue on Escape in March. Our room steward didn't balk at the request. Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app
Rare BirdTravels Posted July 20, 2016 #6 Share Posted July 20, 2016 (edited) Make friends with your room steward and they will open the dividers for you. And ask them to keep them open. When you are in port, the deck crew will open the dividers so they can walk the length of the ship and quickly wash down the balconies and glass railings. And,,, will close the doors when they are done. Edited July 20, 2016 by BirdTravels
elruth Posted July 20, 2016 #7 Share Posted July 20, 2016 I kind of wish they wouldn't open the dividers. On our last cruise, the 3 cabins next to us had the open dividers and 3 families with several kids running the length of the cabin balconies made so much noise we could not go out on our balcony as it was so loud. When they cleaned the balconies on several of our cruises, they didn't open the dividers but used kind of an elevator type thing to raise and lower them so they could clean the balconies.
