Rare mking8288 Posted July 21, 2016 #4 Share Posted July 21, 2016 (edited) Saddened - prayers & condolence to the NCL "rescue" team member and his member back home, plus speedy recovery for the 3 injuried crew. Thank you for the tour boat and other first responders. Learning a little more details from the RG news update this morning. We just sailed her several weeks ago, can't imagine what the mood is like for some of the crew as I am sure words spread to others onboard - the ship is their home away from home. Dreamer68 Posted July 23, 2016 #6 Share Posted July 23, 2016 There was a beautiful tribute to the fallen crewmen by Willy Freeman and his team at the Dockyard, which was captured by the Port Bermuda Webcam. Word has t that a passenger had a heart attack and someone else s seriously ill.... so many unfortunate things on this cruise!! So sorry to hear that, timberleysmom. I hope the last 12 hours will be completely uneventful and you will all safely arrive back at Cape Liberty. And may all go well for the ones being taken back to shore by helicopter..... timberlysmom Posted July 24, 2016 #9 Share Posted July 24, 2016 Thanks! We are about 30 miles from NYC port, and according to the captain last night, the heli evacuation went as well as expected and the person made it safely to a hospital. Thankfully, last night was otherwise uneventful!! Bermuda was amazing, and we are seriously considering a land vacation there soon - we just didnt get enough time to really enjoy the beautiful island. :)
Dreamer68 Posted July 24, 2016 #10 Share Posted July 24, 2016 Welcome back. Glad to know the ones who needed medical attention got it in time and there were no other incidents. We board the Summit next weekend for our first time to Bermuda and pray for no incidents and just great memories.
