Hello everyone. Going on the harmony in April and we will be in this port 7am-230pm. Friends going with us have never been on a cruise. These ports are ALL new to them. I was at Nassau once but it was my first cruise so before I found YOU! lol I was not impressed but hoping it was just my lack of research. My friend;s son really wants to see Atlantis. My question is what do you suggest we do and especially knowing our port times?

Thank you!!!

We just got back from our cruise and we did Atlantis and I was not pleased!!! The price is too high!! We waited about 30-40 minutes for a locker, the tour is nothing they don't tell you anything it's just a long walk with ppl spread everywhere, the first ride which is the leap of faith (which is the one you see featured all the time) is about an hour wait at any given time!!! We were docked and ready to go by 8;30 but we did not get in our 1st ride until 10:52am and we were on time!! Which didn't give us anytime to explore because we had to be back on the boat by 4pm!! We were talking about flying over there and staying on the resort which would give us time to do more!! We didn't get to see the aquarium or anything we only got to go down a few slides!! We didn't have anytime to get souvenirs either!! Just some things to think about before you purchase the tickets!! We spent 600 and was very upset!!

You were there at a very busy time, and got there too late. Oh, and never do the tour - waste of time. Head right to the lockers, chairs, and ready to line up at 10. We've only been off season - I don't think I'd do Atlantis (or Disney) during peak season.

We were the first one off out boat and on the bus to get to Atlantis so we were there when they opened. I was not pleased at all!!

If your ship docked at 8:30, what was the hold up? It's only a 10/15 minute trip - we got off the ship, and were in Atlantis by 9. I'm sure you knew it would be crowded, since July is when pretty much every school in the country is not in session. If possible, I would advise people not to bring valuables, and skip the lockers.

You'd have time to go over and see the Atlantis aquarium. That only takes a couple of hours and then you could have lunch at Margaritaville or at the Marina Village. Not enough time for the waterpark.

Depending on when you're going in April, it could still be spring break and crowded. The second half of April should be fine.

Thank you everyone. I was personally at Atlantis on my 1st cruise. I dont think we did anything other then the public beach and attempted to go into part of the aquarium. I recall an area you didnt have to pay to get in...there was a rope bridge to cross and a walk way that was an aquarium on either side. I dont recall being impressed. A friend wondered into their casino. I am more asking for a friend going along who's son really wanted to see this place. I appreciate the reviews. Doesn't sound like $ or time is on our side with this. We are going last week of April into early May so I think we will be ok with spring breakers. I think I will also look into other options for our day there. Anyone have other suggestions?

Yes we were aware of the time of year and aware that schools were out! They never told us there was a hold up! When we got to the park they made us sit outside waiting on a few more buses which I didn't understand! However it's just my opinion it's not worth it to me for what we experienced and people that done the same excursion that was on our boat said the same thing! You don't have time to really do anything! The tour we had at the beginning was just use walking behind a lady that worked there and she did not say anything she just walked us through the casino never one time said anything other than at the end and told us that the man holding the towels is where we get our towels from!! To me that was just a waste of 45 minutes!!

I believe you, which is why I'm advising others to do this excursion on your own, if possible, forget the "tour", just head towards the slides, and try not to need lockers. It's a lot of money - have a good plan in place.

Yes the lockers are very expensive!! You really don't need a towel until the end and not really then because the sun did that for us in no time! [emoji23] If you want to do the leap of faith I would recommend you have someone right there waiting in line because that's really the only ride you just wait for over an hour we only had to wait a little over 40 minutes because we was in line when they let the first person go down! The serpent slide is better because you go through the same tunnel only slower with an inner tube so you can take good pictures! The Atlantis workers told us the lines are not as long after the all the people crushing leaves lol but our cruise ship left at 4pm so I honestly don't know!!

We will be in Nassau on 01DEC, we are scheduled to be in port from 11 AM until 8 PM. Atlantis is the one thing my son has EVER asked to do. I know it is expensive, but what will the crowds be like then? I am pulling him out of school for a birthday cruise, and this is going to be the big port excursion.

It shouldn't be too crowded, since the holiday is the week before... but keep in mind that it get's dark very early this time of year. Slides will be shut down by 4:30pm. It will be dark before 5pm. So it's a short day!

Any idea if the excursion will end when it gets dark? Is there anything else to do at Atlantis when it is dark?

  • 4 months later...

If we go and buy a day pass on arrival for the aquarium only I am reading that the desk opens early on the days that Harmony is in port (730 I hear)? Can anyone verify that? Wondering how long it typically takes to do the aquarium iwht a couple teens? If there is time should we plan to visit the beach nearby that is free or head back towards the ship and explore there?

Blue Lagoon would be good option . Not sure how old friends son is , but there are inflatables in water and other fun water toys . Go to their website and check it out . Also have dolphins & sea lions.
