We are sailing out of New Orleans on Jan. 20th.....will be coming in a few days early to see New Orleans. Can anyone recommend a nice hotel....not too pricy :) but a good location ???? Want to be near the action of course !!! :)

Do any of the hotels have the program where you can leave your car while you are cruising?

THANKS

We have always stayed at the Best Western-St Christopher. It is across Canal St from the French Quarter. Reasonably priced and very clean and comfortable. We have cruised four times from NOLA and plan to again, and this is where we would stay. By the way, NOLA is a GREAT port to cruise from. The river is awesome to cruise down. Have Fun.

Hi Buster,

You will find lots of information on the New Orleans board. Here is one example:

Some of our friends got rooms for around $180 the weekend before our cruise last DEC. One was best western and the other was marriot - both near canal street.

It was thanksgiving weekend and the Bayou Classic so maybe you can find rooms cheaper in JAN if there aren't any events going on.

If you have a little budget extra - the royal sonesta was outstanding for us!

Good Luck.

Hilton Riverside all the way! We are staying there for a 2nd time this coming December. Also, don't let them fool you that you can't get to the terminal without taking a cab, they are WRONG. If you roll your bags through the outlet mall, you go through the food court, out the doors, and are left with 2 flights of stairs to walk down and you are there. If you are able to walk and carry your bags, you are set. There is also a streetcar stop right in front of the hilton and you can take it down the river towards Cafe du Monde and are right in the French Quarter and walking distance to everything. You can also walk as well as it is about a mile or a little less.

Enjoy!

Bob
