Beachin2 Posted July 31, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 31, 2016 Have read about the sometimes extensive delays boarding in Vancouver for Alaska trips due to the need to process through US customs & immigration before boarding as all the stops are in the US. Is Global Access/SENTRI/NEXUS available at this port? Specifically, for a Celebrity cruise at whatever terminal they regularly use.
cruiseryyc Posted July 31, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 31, 2016 I don't believe there is Global Entry at the cruise port.
Robinsoncruiseso Posted August 8, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 8, 2016 We have used our Nexus cards on two cruises this year embarking at Canada Place. There was no marked line. When you get to the uniformed staff at immigration, ask them about the Nexus line. It had about 5 couples where the other lines had much more. nnn Posted August 8, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 8, 2016 I went through Canada Place on July 3, and there WAS a dedicated and marked Global Entry line. There are no GE kiosks -- just a special line for the CBP officer.
Beachin2 Posted September 11, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted September 11, 2016 Just left the Infinity this morning - there definitely IS a GE/Nexus line at both the port (outgoing and incoming) and it sure saved us a lot of time. Lined up to debark at 9:00 and was in a taxi at 9:25. Have your card in your hands and watch for the signs. Saved us a boatload of time at YVR too. rjp50 Posted November 4, 2016 #6 Share Posted November 4, 2016 Perhaps someone can set me straight on this. I can understand GE being an asset at the airport since US Customs and Immigration have a presence in Canadian airports for flights to the US. However, how does it help with disembarking the ship? Wouldn't that be a Canadian official at that point? Am I wrong to assume that GE only works for entry to the US?

rrrrtt Posted May 5 #8 Share Posted May 5 I asked on another forum here but no answers. I'll find out if there's still one for U.S.-bound cruises tomorrow. There was one in 2017.
