JimandStan Posted August 7, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 7, 2016 Considering a cruise on Regatta but have not sailed Oceania. Any insight on this cabin would be appreciated particularly noise issues from the deck/restroom area above. Thanks. My concerns about that Suite would be the connecting door to 8006 and being under the ping pong table on the Pool Deck -you're actually well astern, about 20 feet back, from those restrooms ;) It's impossible to predict, however because if your neighbors are quiet, the door won't be an issue, and we've been on Cruises where the ping pong was desolate, and others where it was "the thing to do"
Mura Posted August 7, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 7, 2016 We were in 8008 on Nautica when it was the very brand new R5 with Renaissance (it had only sailed a total of 20 days when we boarded) and didn't notice much noise at all. Never heard any ping pong!! Then again, Ren may not have had a table in that location. We DID hear occasional "chair scraping" noises for a few minutes, I think in the morning and possibly evening, it was a long time ago. It wasn't enough to disturb us, however. Others may be more sensitive to that kind of sound than we were at the time. Mura
garydm Posted August 7, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted August 7, 2016 Thanks very much. Been under the ping pong table on another line and it was bad.
Mike2131 Posted August 8, 2016 #5 Share Posted August 8, 2016 That is our rule of thumb and it has served us well. The cabin on my very first cruise years ago was under the MDR on the Celebrity Horizon. Lesson learned!
