What's near the Nassau Cruise Port?

We will be in Nassau for 5 short hours. Just wondering if there is anything near the cruise port that is worth seeing or doing that you can walk to. We are saving our excursions for our other two full day port stops.

There are beaches within walking distance, tons of shops, senor frogs etc. There's a lot you can do in a short time

Lots of shops! Senor Frogs is close and provides a "just for the fun of it" time. :D

The ship basically docks in the center of town, so for 5 hours, you have loads of things to do,

 

Taxi basically anywhere in the city

Shops

Food

Beaches

Crowds

Tourists

Pirate Museum

Hotels with all day passes

Straw Market (But I would advice one to steer clear of this if you are looking for souvenirs)

 

We certainly cannot tell you what to do with your 5 hours. Either take a ship excursion, read some of the pages here to get an idea what is available that you might be interested in and get off the ship and do it.

If you are into craft beer, Pirate Republic Brewing is a block away.

The John Watling distillery and Graycliff chocolates and cigars are about a 15 minute walk from the port. Weather permitting, we are planning on checking them out when we're there in October.

Lots of restaurants, bars and shopping to walk around. Also several horse drawn carriages for hire. We walked around for a bit, then headed into the Hard Rock Cafe for some adult beverages and their free Wi-Fi.
