Yep... With rental cars in Alaska reserving early is the way to go.

I expected one in fairbanks for a day would be expensive but it is about $35 next June. I was glad to have found such a great price so early. I will cancel my HAL transfers and just take a taxi back to the hotel after dinner out the night the "official" land part begins.

Last week I rented a standard SUV for one day next July from Alamo at the Ted Stevens airport ( for after we return our motor home ) for $72 thru Costco. Now the same rental is $233! Book early!!!

We were able to get a full size from Alamo at the airport on July 23rd for next June 2017, for $199.00/wk. With all the taxes and fee's, it will be $291. Pretty pleased with that price. Ideally, were use to driving a compact SUV but not worth the price difference. Full size will work just fine! :)
