Sail and Sign Card in Casino

I have read on some of the posts here that some people were using their Sail and Sign Card in the Casino to get money, rather then go to the ATM Machine. Wouldn't that be considered a "cash advance" then when the ship bills your credit card for that amount of money that you required?

Your sail and sign shows up on your credit card as a regular purchase even if you got cash in the casino.

There are no additional charges (at least for now) when you get cash with your seapass, it is just a regular transaction. And, if you have the RCI MBNA credit card, you get double points :D

I am now confused..... have they changed the name of the credit card type card they give you to use for all purchases and as a room key to "sail and sign card " ?? Last cruise we were on was called "SEAPASS CARD" Also now when you put all your information in computer prior to arriving at the dock you print out your "SETSAIL PASS" to make boarding faster and easier.

It is still the SeaPass, Carnival calls it the Sail and Sign card. And your are correct, you complete the SetSail pass online before your cruise :D

OP - Your question was previously answered but just thought I would confirm. Just got off Mariner 10/23 and you can use your SeaPass to receive cash from the casino cashier (or from the pit boss if you happen to be playing table games). You may get up to $2000 per day (as long as the credit card you secured your account with will hold it ;) ). This shows up on your shipboard account as entertainment, then your total shipboard account will be transferred to your credit card in a lump sum. It is not a separate transaction so it does not show up as a cash advance.

Sorry about the confusion with the Sail And Sign----SeaPass card name. I wonder what other cruise lines call their cards. Might be an idea for a thread huh? :)

On the Mariner in Sept I got money from the casino 2 times (I'm trying to rack up frequent flyer miles). When I got home I put the money in my checking account and waited for the charge card bill to come and then paid it off.
