HappyMe_ Posted August 22, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 22, 2016 Hi, not at all familiar with Disney ships. Considering cruise and found this statement 'some cabins may have solid white wall'. Is this white wall on certain deck, in a particular area? We are looking at Balcony cabin. Thanks for any help. MCC retired Posted August 22, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 22, 2016 (edited) Instead of plexiglass , the balcony wall is steel. These cabins are usually near the bow or stern. Generally a few $$ less than other balcony clear plexiglass categories. Edited August 22, 2016 by MCC retired
Ex techie Posted August 23, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 23, 2016 (edited) Hi, not at all familiar with Disney ships. Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app Most are located Aft. Here are some examples. (images from Google and not my own) and they also have a Navigators verandah which is more enclosed on the classics that looks like these: The DCL website gives this description: Staterooms – Frequently Asked QuestionsQ. What are the different types of verandahs? A. You can choose from 3 types of stateroom verandahs on a Disney Cruise Line ship: The standard verandah features an open-air balcony skirted by an acrylic wall, allowing for a full view of the horizon even while seated. The whitewall verandah offers open-air lounging with a solid wall from the deck to the railing. Most of these staterooms are located in the aft portion of the ship. The navigator’s verandah is enclosed for greater privacy while still affording a stunning view and sea breezes though a large, open-air porthole above the railing. Please note: Verandahs differ by size and style depending on the ship and stateroom type, and the view on some verandahs may be obstructed. You can preview images of your stateroom’s verandah style during the booking process. And you may upgrade your room category to enjoy a more spacious verandah or an unobstructed view after booking your cruise. https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/faq/staterooms/verandah-types/ HTH's! ex techie Edited August 23, 2016 by Ex techie
Ex techie Posted August 23, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 23, 2016 (edited) The disneycruiselineblog actually has a deck plan that shows the Staterooms with solid whitewall verandahs, marked by an asterisk here: http://disneycruiselineblog.com/ships/deck-plans-disney-magic-disney-wonder/ All verandah decks, 5 thru 8. ex techie Edited August 23, 2016 by Ex techie to add.
