Lunch in OSJ or Isla Verde????

We will be in SJU between sailings and will probably want to get off the ship for awhile and have lunch.

I would guess we would go in to OSJ (will be at Pan Am pier) but don't have any definite plans so could go over to Isla Verde.

Where would you recommend for good food? What is their specialty food / drink? (Drinks are optional since Mr. Ski doesn't do alcohol....but I do so if they have a specialty I might try it.) What did you have there and what would you recommend?

Thanks.

Hi Ski -

Here is were we ate a few years ago ~ In 0SJ we ate at Barrachinas. They have a website www.barrachina.com. I believe some if not all of the menu is posted on the website. I cannot remember what we had to eat I think we all just order different things and then shared. I do remember we drank a big pitcher of Sangria and it was wonderful. Of course if you are the only one drinking a pitcher would be to much unless Mr. Ski wants to carry you back. We sat outside in the patio area. The are also famous for their Pina Coloda's.

In Isla Vedre we ate at Metropol which is a local chain of resturants. I believe they feature cuban/puerto rican food. Everything we had was delicious and there was an over abundance of food. I am going to try and take mom there since we have a 3:35 flight I thought we might be able to do lunch there. Also since Mr Ski likes Craps there is a big hotel/casino across the street where he could spend a little time. I can remember having a mixed drink here and they sure didn't skimp on the alcohol.

Enjoy:) OH one more thing - we had dinner at Metropol so I am only guessing that they are open for lunch...I may get online to check this out and will let you know!!
