jtl513 Posted August 30, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 30, 2016 (edited) Anybody know or risk a guess about what is above cabin K1116 ? It's part of the galley of course, but if you mean what specific equipment or operation is there I don't know. We were under a galley once ... and will never intentionally be again! :). Rare Oviedo32765 Posted August 31, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 31, 2016 Here is a link to the Oosterdam deck plans. It appears to me that K1116 is just under the entrance to the dining room and a portion of the galley that leads to the dining room.
Rare Hlitner Posted August 31, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 31, 2016 We will be blunt (not politically correct) and say that K1116 is not a location we would choose :). There are a few reasons. You are near the aft of the lowest passenger deck...which may subject you to vibrations from the Azipods and other mechanical systems that tend to array from mid-ship to aft. In addition, that cabin is below part of the galley...which is an area we avoid on nearly any ship. The galley begins to ramp-up their activities very early in the morning, and if you are unlucky, you might hear rolling carts, footsteps, and other galley related noise. Ideally we look for cabins that are surrounded (all sides and above/below) by other cabins or quiet public areas. Hank
