whynotcruise Posted August 31, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 31, 2016 Hello ... We plan to take the Hop On- Hop Off, but also want to visit the JFK Library. Is there a stop close to the library? Would you suggest taking a taxi or another public transportation? Thanks in advance... :)
Nitemare Posted August 31, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 31, 2016 Most of the HOHO's don't go to the JFK museum. It's not near the rest of Boston's more popular sites. Here's the main company's map: http://www.trolleytours.com/boston/location-map.asp You can easily take the MBTA's Red Line subway from South Station (not far from the dock) to the Library: https://www.jfklibrary.org/Visit/Plan-Your-Trip/FAQ.aspx

Much better to take the SilverLine SL2 bus from Black Falcon to South Station and do the free transfer to the Red Line direction Braintree/Ashmont (any train) to JFK/UMass Station. Coming back reverse the process being sure to take the SL2 Silver Line bus.
cruislovin Posted September 6, 2016 #4 Share Posted September 6, 2016 Is there a stop on the HOHO bus route that is within walking distance of the JFK Library? We are already independently booked on the HOHO so we need directions from the bus route, not from the ship. Thanks in advance!
Nitemare Posted September 16, 2016 #5 Share Posted September 16, 2016 (edited) No. The JFK Library is removed from the rest of Boston's tourist attractions. HOHOs don't go there or within walking distance. You'll need to take public transit (Red Line) or a taxi or Uber Edited September 16, 2016 by Nitemare

I am looking for closest proximity, ease of getting a cab, etc. We may want to work it into the day.
Nitemare Posted September 21, 2016 #7 Share Posted September 21, 2016 South Station is a train/bus station with plenty of cabs. Or you can take the Red Line from there to the JFK Library shuttle

chengkp75 Posted September 22, 2016 #9 Share Posted September 22, 2016 Is the Red Line a bus route? How would I find the schedule? Sent from my SM-N910V using Forums mobile app Red Line is a subway line, part of Boston's famous "T" system. If you go to: "http://www.mbta.com/schedules_and_maps" it will give you maps of the bus, T, and rail system, as well as schedules and fares.
