Dining in Navigator Sette Mari

We're doing the Eastern Med cruise starting the 15th and would love to dine outside most nights. How easy will it be to get an outside table (shared probably) at 7:30pm?

Hi Mikey,

I think you would struggle getting outside table at 1930. If it's a gloruios evening those tables go fast even from about 1830.

We are just home yesterday from Mariner in Alaska. We really enjoy Sette Marie in the evening about once a cruise, and this time although evening weather was not conducive for outdoor tables, for inside we went along at 1900 hours and no tables for 2 that evening, and went earlier next evening and got seated fine.

The outside part is only open in good weather and calm seas. If you want a table outside, you need to be there early

Sounds like we will have to adjust our dining time to get a table outside then.

Mikey, depending on the balance of Americans and Europeans on the ship, you could well find more availability later than earlier. In our experience, Europeans (including ourselves) prefer to dine later than our American friends. On the few occasions we've dined in Sette Mari, there has been a queue upon opening and an hour or so later, things have quietened down considerably. However, those keen to snag an outside table on a balmy evening might arrive early and then luxuriate over their meal to linger in one of those cherished spots. My recommendation would to be ask the maitre d' for his/her advice. They are usually pretty helpful about such things and whilst they'll guarantee nothing, they will do their best to make sure your wishes are fulfilled.

Unless, of course, you are sailing on a half full ship which many cruises are in the Med nowadays.

We were on the same cruise as Liptastic. We arrived in Sette Mare on our first evening of sailing from Vancouver with the intent of a table on the aft deck on a beautiful night. We arrived at 6:35 only to leaned the line out the door upon opening had snagged all the tables outside. We did have a window table but would have loved to be outside. There were some very experienced passengers on our full ship.

This is impossible to judge and depends on luck and the dining preferences of all the passengers. We did a B2B from Haifa to Barcelona on Navigator and sat outside twice , inside once in sette Mari. However on our trip we adjusted our dining to a little earlier, from 7-45 wish to about 7-20 so as to get to the shows also the passengers on these two cruises ate later often queues to be seated in CR at 7-45 to 8-15 many nights. We had 2 /3 larger groups(families ) which gave little flexibility on larger tables, plus after long hot days people were not at dinner as early. When we first sailed Mariner in Alaska we were often getting relaid tables at 7-45 when people were queuing to dine at 6-30.

As much as you may like alfresco dining sette Mari every night is limited choice, CR and prime 7 will give you a wider choice and variety. Another guarantee of al fresco is room service of CR on your own balcony.

Good advice talk to the manager and ask for suggestions. On our trip (full ) CR was more popular than sette Mari , which was not always that busy. This depends on the menu .

To add to above plan daily where you are, in the cruise, are you sailing or in port, the CR menu, lateness of excursions etc, whether you wish to go on to the show and especially the weather as the outside deck is not available some nights.
