mtsnd1900 Posted September 8, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 8, 2016 My wife and I are avid Kayakers and considering going on a kayak excursion on our upcoming cruise to Canada. We will be in Saint John in mid October. Will it be to cold to kayak, or is the water warm enough that if we are not wearing wetsuits that we will be okay in the (unlikely) event we dump? Other option is to walk the city. First time at the port. Thank you!
awhfy Posted September 8, 2016 #2 Share Posted September 8, 2016 It'll be a bit brisk! Water is never warm there! Air might be warm. We're paddle boarders & id wear at least a shortie wetsuit Sent from my iPad using Forums

Joyously Sailing Away Posted September 9, 2016 #4 Share Posted September 9, 2016 Hahahaha; that would be brisk! I'm from the maritimes and we don't swim at the beach in October. But hay; if you from the north and I mean the High North go for it. Our friends from the North West Territories say it's great [emoji6]❄️ Have a great day[emoji924][emoji4][emoji106]
traceytd Posted September 9, 2016 #5 Share Posted September 9, 2016 I'm 2 hours away from Saint John... I remember a few times in the past going trick or treating with my kids in 2 feet of snow... I hope not this year. Just don't fall in... Lol Sent from my iPad using Forums

Too cold for me except the height of summer.
mcgratru Posted September 10, 2016 #7 Share Posted September 10, 2016 Correct. The Bay of Fundy is always pretty cold with temperatures not changing much throughout the year. Mid-October can be beautiful and warm (70s) or snowy and below freezing (but still beautiful as the cold temperatures make the leaves amazing!)
