July 4th at VNP

We will be taking the Pride of America departing Oahu on Saturday July 1, 2017.

Right now, we are signed up for NCL's Volcano National Park excursion. Will the park be open on July 4th. Also, will there be any special activites on the 4th and would they affect or be incorporated into our tour?

Yes, VNP will be open. They are open year round, 24 hours a day. I am not sure if there are any special activities on July 4th. Kilauea Military Camp is located within the park and they may have something going on. But, I doubt an organized tour would be participating in any of these activities. Enjoy your day at the park!

Yes the park is definitely open on July 4th! We were there on the 4th of July this year :)

 

But no there's really nothing special that happens. I had been hoping there would be but no. I believe the closest festivities are in Hilo, we opted to hike to see natures fireworks up close instead ;)

I have heard that they will turn on the volcano to provide the fireworks :D ;)
