We have a family group on an Alaska sailing next June.

 

My husband and I are in a Sky Suite. Everyone else is in balcony cabins.

 

Will we be able to eat with them in the main dining room?...or are we required to eat in Luminae?

Never had a Sky Suite, but have met people who have. You can eat wherever you like.

Are you on the 16th June sailing? if so, why not join our Roll Call.

You don't have an MDR table assigned but your Luminae Host can usually make arrangements for you to join your friends

You are not required to dine in Luminae and if you want to have your dining assignment permanently changed to the MDR, that can be done.

 

Would you be looking at Select or Traditional Dining? If you only want to dine with your friends occasionally, and they are in Select, it should be no problem. Also with Select it's easier to make a permanent change because tables are not assigned pre-cruise.

 

With Traditional, your friends already will have table assignment. They may be seated at a table for six, as an example, and with the addition of the two of you would have to be moved to a table for eight. This requires some re-alignment of dining table assignments. It's not impossible, it just takes some coordination.

 

The first thing I would do when you get on board is to stop at Michael's Club and talk to the Concierge there. She or he can assist you in making the change.
