casino charges - on board account??

Hi. A friend of mine told me that when you are on a Princess ship (unless being on RCI or NCL or Carnival), when you go to the casino and get chips using your sign and sail card, that Princess levies a "fee" for that. Can someone verify this and let me know if this is a flat rate or a percentage of the amount you take.

Also, can you cash a personal check on board without a fee?

It used to be that you could cash one check for somewhere around $100-$200 onboard. But only one. Not sure if they still do that as I have not looked into it in many years.

Best way is to take TC's with you and then if you don't use them, just cash them and put them back into your account when you get home.
