  1. Thanks for the replies. If I do not see the obc reflected when I log onto our cruise by Monday, I will also be making a call to the Captains Club.
  2. Recently we signed up for the above credit card and paid our final payment for our upcoming Oct. cruise. Today, I logged onto the Bank of America website and redeemed some points for another cruise which we have this Jan. I did make a copy of my confirmations for our records. Will this on board credit be available for pre-cruise purchases and show up for our Jan. cruise when logging on to celebritycruises.com? Or will we receive confirmation of the on board credit after we board in January?
  3. I was able to get an FCC when my Gem 5/31/24 sailing went down in price after final payment. It is good for 2 years.
  4. We also do not want to cruise on the mega ships.
  5. I wholeheartedly agree! We too are 45 min. from the cruise terminal. I was anxiously awaiting for the 2026 schedule, but now I'll have to reconsider booking the Jewel for 2025.
  6. Easier to do what "keesar" said, just have the porter attach luggage tags.
  7. There are a number of inside cabins and a sunset sky suite left on the above cruise......Eclipse sailing 1/20/25.
  8. I think you meant to say 2024. We're on that sailing also. 🙂
  9. Cruised the end of May on the Gem, and we parked in the lot right next to the terminal. We arrived around 11 a.m. and were on board before 11:30 a.m. One of our fastest embarkations ever.
  10. If you cancel prior to the final payment due date, if you book a refundable deposit fare, you would get back your deposit. If you book a non-refundable deposit fare, you would lose it.
  11. If the on board credit is from Celebrity, you can use it to purchase things in advance of your cruise. If it is from a travel agent, you can't use it until your cruise starts.
  12. My suggestion is to find an agency with group rates, which are refundable and include the Classic drink package and wifi. If you book far enough out, they are about $400 - $500 more pp than the non-refundable rate which includes nothing.
  13. Just off the Gem. There is smoking throughout the casino. There is also smoking on the deck above the pool area near the bar. There is also an enclosed Cigar Lounge near the martini bar. There was no smoking area on the actual pool deck.
  14. We just got off the Gem on June 7, and we did attend the Whitney Houston show. While I am a fan, after 3 or 4 songs, both of us wanted to leave. We did stay for about 45 minutes of the show though.
  15. We'll be heading back to Bermuda on the Gem at the end of the month. On the website for Snorkel Park, it states that entrance fee is $15 pp. (I remember when it was $5). Since we'll be in Bermuda for 3 days, we usually like to go there on one of the days and have a few drinks, and I may go in the water if I get hot enough. We usually hang at the bar there and don't rent lounge chairs, etc. I have read on a recent tripadvisor review that entrance fee is now $20. Can anyone confirm that? if so, it's getting ridiculous. If that's the case, we'll just take the $7 minibus and go back to Horseshoe Bay.
  16. Daily gratuities for Club Balcony and lower categories are $20 pp per day. The Haven or suites gratuities are $25 pp per day.
  17. We cruised on the Jewel last Aug. and I had 11072, my friends had 11074and 11076, and none of us complained about any noise issues.
  18. When we are in Bermuda, we always enjoy spending at least a couple hours on Calico Jacks Pirate Ship, having a few drinks, and I enjoyed going down the slide and spending time in the water. I read on Tripadvisor that they are permanently closed. Very sad.
  19. We're booked on the Gem for 5/31. It's been quite a number of years since we've cruised on the Gem. While looking at the photos for the Gem on Cruise Critic, it shows a water slide. Does the Gem now have a water slide in the pool area?
  20. We, also, will be on board January 20th. We will also be on board this Oct. 11th for the Boston to FLL repo cruise.
  21. I love the Sonesta on FLL Beach, and we usually stay here before a cruise, whether cruising out of FLL or MIA. We enjoy it so much, we stay even for land vacations. Primantis pizza is around the corner.....open 24/7, and the Parrot Bar is in back of the hotel. There are also other restaurants within an easy walk, too. It is on the corner of A1A and Sunrise Boulevard. You won't be disappointed. Check out the reviews.
  22. In Bermuda, they walk the drug sniffing dog up and down the corridors when you arrive in Bermuda. I've seen it numerous times. Now for another story, we were on a Holland America ship last year (the Statendam), not going to Bermuda, but sailing the Caribbean. The very first night, we were sitting in the aft pool area (the smoking area). One guy came and joined our group and lit up a joint." We were at a table very close to the bar area. I told him it was not allowed on cruise ships. He said it was legal in his state and he didn't care. I told him that did not matter, and if he was going to smoke weed, he should be a whole lot more discreet about it other wise, when we get to port, he may be arrested. Now, he also smoked cigarettes, as did we. This is the area the majority of people go who smoke cigarettes. Well, we never saw hide nor hair of him after that night. We think he may have gotten arrested and put in the brig and then put off the ship at the first port of call. Exactly. The dog did not hit on my purse, (or on our person), but continuously hit upon the safe. We tell anyone we are traveling with that we know who smoke weed this story and tell them, do NOT try to bring any drugs with you to Bermuda. Well, one of my husband's cousins did NOT listen to our warning and brought some a couple years ago. He said, "It'll be fine, I have it in shoe, wrapped up with baby powder", yadda yadda yadda. Well, he did get caught, got thrown off the ship, had to spend a couple days in Bermuda (on his dime!) and was charged a very hefty fine (which he could not pay). Thank God his father was with him and paid it (but took it out of his inheritance). It was thousands!!!! He learned his lesson!
