I've never had a problem, and I've been there on a land based holiday and ship port visits.

Usual safety rules applies like every where in this world now: leave yr diamonds at home be aware of where you are and don't through your money around.

London (my home) and Barbados- no difference.

I agree. I have been to most Caribbean islands on cruises or land holidays. The only place we felt unsafe was years ago when we went off the beaten track in a hire car in Jamaica. Apart from that have never felt unsafe on any of the islands, particularly Barbados.

Just a word of warning in case you didn't know, it is an offence to wear any camouflage pattern clothing in Barbados.

Not at all. We've travelled quite a bit on local buses to various local beaches and always walk into Bridgetown on the last day. Nice promenade, Carenage and not in the least threatening in our experience. Fab island
