Cagney's - What to order

Hi,

I do not like red meat (my husband and MIL do). We are going to Cagney's and I was wondering if I could get some recommendations for entrees? What is the best fish/shellfish entree? Is the chicken entree good?

Also, we have the SDP, can I really order numerous sides like broccoli, garlic potatoes, creamed corn and roasted mushrooms and not pay extra? The sides are always my favorite part of steakhouses! (since I don't like red meat)

Thank you.

Can't help on the entrees (I'm a beef guy and don't remember the seafood offerings at all), but yes, you can order as many sides as you want.

App wise, I thought the crab cake appetizer was very good.

Enjoy.

I'm not a red meat eater either but DH is and somehow Cagney's and Moderno have turned into favorites, even for me!

At Cagney's the shrimp cocktail appetizer is a must do. I think I had the sea bass last time and it was GREAT. I've never had a bad meal there and really have never needed the sides to get full, although don't get me wrong they are great and we get plenty to share. I've never had the chicken so can't comment there, sorry.

Enjoy!

I was wondering the same thing. To make things even more difficult, I am allergic to shellfish (but can eat normal fish) and don't eat red meat. Are there enough choices in Cagneys (and Le Bistro for that matter) for me, or will they amend any dishes that have shellfish in them? I really like chicken and am happy with sides and vegetarian. Thanks

I disagree about the sea bass. It comes in a liquid and is more like a soup. I love chilian sea bass but hated this. The lamb chops were rather on the small side so if you are a big eater, order more apps and sides. The filet was good but better in Le Bistro. Also, the Cagney fries weren't that special either.

I had the sea bass a couple of weeks ago and it was very good. I don't remember it being like a soup though. I also had the chicken (truffle chicken I think) and really enjoyed it. Don't avoid cagney's because you don't eat red meat. I did for years and it was a mistake!

As long as you give them advance notice about your allergies they are wonderful at amending dishes.

Which ship? From reading other threads I am discovering that Cagney's menu on the megaships is different from that of Jewel-class ships.

YES, with the SDP you can order as many sides as you wish.

We will be on the Jewel. I keep reading that different ships use different menus. This is our first NCL cruise and I would love to see the current Jewel menus.
