Snacks on Norwegian

I know we cannot bring water or Diet Cokes on board when we board the ship. What about snacks such as trail mix? The only thing i see about this is a one sentence blurb under the water section question that states:

Unsealed food items will not be allowed onboard.

 

Has anyone had experience with this previously? I would hate to buy a bunch of trail mix and then not be allowed on board with it. :):):)

It has to be a factory sealed bag of snacks. You can't just put some M&Ms in a baggie, or do something like that.

I always take a few snacks and after 36+ cruises, no problems. Usually have had to open them because I need something in line before boarding.

We usually bring granola bars and other sealed snacks and have never had a problem.

I usually bring sealed snacks onboard. Are you intending to eat them onboard only or take them into port also? If you plan on taking them into port make sure to bring a packaged of small sealed bags of trail max, cause you will also need the pre-packaged sealed bags to take them off the ship, as opposed to a large family size bag.

When I was going through security to embark on my first cruise, I had a half eaten bag of chips and fruit in my bag. They pulled me aside to investigate further and said I can't go on with an open package of chips and fruit. So, I had no problem getting rid of it. On subsequent cruises I had no problem getting on the ship with factory sealed snacks.

We took packaged snacks for our son's Gf as she has a severe tree nut allergy, this kept her from having to read all ingredients for having a snack while in port. Helpful if English is not the predominant language!
