zebra Posted October 18, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 18, 2016 What is the cheapest way to get into town from the tender? Excluding walking, as I have knee problems. What is the approx distance from ship to town? ........
barneyboy Posted October 18, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 18, 2016 If you are tendered you will be dropped off in town. If you are docked it is further out. I believe the ships provide a shuttle bus which may be charged. When we were waiting for a return tender there was also a boat which went to the port where the ships were docked. wheezedr Posted October 18, 2016 #3 Share Posted October 18, 2016 The tender will drop you right in town. Easy to take your time wandering around at a slow pace. You will get lost. That is part of the plan
Rare Hlitner Posted October 18, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 18, 2016 If you dock, the cheapest way is to simply walk! Have done it quite a few times, although one must be cautious of traffic when walking along the side of the road. Hank
sayaguru Posted December 28, 2016 #5 Share Posted December 28, 2016 If docked- Some ships charge for the bus, others provide a free shuttle. You can get the ferry for 2 Euros just as you get off the ship..
RoadTripFanatic Posted January 9, 2017 #6 Share Posted January 9, 2017 Since you have mobility issues, I would take the cruise ship bus. There are very few taxis in Mykonos. I believe it is less than 30. We stood in a taxi que to get back to the ship and were very lucky we only waited 30 minutes. The people in front of us had waited 90 minutes for a ride to their hotel! Cruiserbillyboo Posted January 12, 2017 #7 Share Posted January 12, 2017 (edited) It makes a HUGE difference if you are docking vs. tendering. Docking is a bit outside of town. Definitely need a vehicle of some sort (taxi, bus, whatever....)if there are mobility issues. But if tendered, then the tender location is directly in town. You are right there in town. Cruiserbillyboo Posted January 12, 2017 #8 Share Posted January 12, 2017 This shows very well where the tender location is vs. where the ship docking location is: http://www.sagetraveling.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Mykonos-Cruise-2.jpg
anthonyy7 Posted January 15, 2017 #9 Share Posted January 15, 2017 We're going back to Mykonos and it would be great to tender into town. Last time we were there on the Regal we tendered but away and still had to ride a shuttle into town. I didn't understand why they couldn't drop us in town.
