toxicfairy Posted October 20, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 20, 2016 Anyone have any experience with this hotel? Anything close buy? Does the hotel have a Shuttle to port in Galveston? Thinking of staying there in August one night before cruise. How far is it from Hobby and from cruise port? Thanks any thing else you can tell me about it? Will be 4 of us in the room. TexanBuckeye Posted October 20, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 20, 2016 I've stayed at Moody Gardens for a conference. It is really nice. Since we drove down I don't know how far it is from Hobby. We did drive down to the port and it was probably about a 15-20 minute drive. Sent from my iPad using Forums
ssb Posted October 20, 2016 #3 Share Posted October 20, 2016 (edited) Moody Hotel is one of better 5 hotels in Galveston., It is a resort with Moody Gardens next door and has one one of two convention centers in Galveston. They have a shuttle to move you around the city including port. If you are staying one night, there is plenty to do there at Moody Gardens and or Schlterbaun Water Park. OI they can take you in transfer Bus to Port , Old Town and The Strand or to the seawall activities on the Gulf . First Class restaurant on top floor with wonderful views and and major lunch and breakfast on first. Call to confirm. Other better hotels are Galvez , San Luis on Seawall and Tremont and Harbor House downtown by Port. Edited October 20, 2016 by ssb
toxicfairy Posted October 20, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted October 20, 2016 Thanks all! Was looking at booking this one but the husband decided against it since it will be us and our DD's. Although it looks really nice the restaurant is a bit pricey for a family. We decided on Comfort suites. Husband says "we just need a room with free breakfast and no cockroaches" so we can get an early start the next morning. I hate flying in the day of the cruise. We have done it but with stomachs in knots since anything can go wrong with timing.
