txjeeplady Posted October 22, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 22, 2016 So we are not sailing out of Port Canaveral but we do have a stop there in December. My husband said he liked the idea of a helicopter flight tour and i found 2 companies: Beachside Helicopters and Florida Air Tours. Has anybody used either of these? And any idea on transportation to them? I think they both operate out of the Merritt Island Airport - but Florida Air Tours also has a Port Canaveral address.... My next step is to call them - i just figured i would ask here first. Thanx! Martha

Capt_BJ Posted October 23, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 23, 2016 verified ... they have an office (a trailer) about 100 yards sw of "the tower" with a roped off landing pad .... I actually have a certificate for a free flight with them, just haven't gotten around to using it ...
Capt_BJ Posted October 23, 2016 #5 Share Posted October 23, 2016 btw .... have you checked the price???? 3 minute flight ... $40 for one rider - for 2 or 3 riders the cost is $20 each (same math continues down the path here .....) 6 min flight $80 or $40 ea 12 min flight $140 ..... not commenting on the worth or value ... just noticed this when I read the web site wondering what the flight I won at a charity auction might actually be .... how long .... It's not something we will do all the time - but just a one time thing and then we can say we have been in a helicopter! Thanx again!!

maxdude5 Posted November 1, 2016 #8 Share Posted November 1, 2016 Has anyone gotten a taxi from the ship to this? I can't imagine it would cost much since it is at the port, but are taxi's easy to find?
Capt_BJ Posted November 1, 2016 #9 Share Posted November 1, 2016 yes taxi are usually east to find .. it will probably be 888 taxi as the port gave them an exclusive contract
maxdude5 Posted November 1, 2016 #10 Share Posted November 1, 2016 Thank you. So I guess no need to arrange for taxi service in advance if they have plenty of them available? What about return service back to port--say from Jetty Park? Any advice on that?
Capt_BJ Posted November 1, 2016 #11 Share Posted November 1, 2016 (edited) 321-868-8888 http://www.cab888.com/ if you park at the normal visiting ship pier, you can walk from Jetty Park there are other taxi companies but the port charges these a surcharge to drop/pick up in the port .... 888 has 'the contract' UBER exists around here too Edited November 1, 2016 by Capt_BJ
