He will be on board from what I heard. A friend of mine was on the ship at the end of July and he mentioned he would be aboard when we go in Nov/Dec. Same cruise with you Bret.

I've had a lot of my friends ask if we were the only people on the ship, when I take cruise photos. lol The arm in one picture was my husband's arm. lol

 

On the 1st night, we were so exhausted from just the excitement about going on the cruise to begin with, that we fell asleep at 9:30pm. Because we went to bed so early, we ended up getting up at 5:00am, and that's when I took the photos. When everyone else was asleep.

We were on the western itinerary, and the time doesn't change on that one. It's the same time there, as it is in Miami.

 

We did notice though that the sun sets earlier the further south you go. I never learned that when I was in school apparently. LOL I called my daughter from San Juan, and it was dark at 5:30, and she said that it was daylight here in Florida.

We bought our 2 year old granddaughter a Doremi plushed toy at the store on the cruise ship. We bought her the larger one (for about $11.00), and we bought my 6 mo. old grandson, a smaller one (for about $7.00).

 

She loved this so much, that she had to take it to the store when I took her grocery shopping with me.

Enjoying your review. Love the pics of your grand daughter and the cute toy. Notice in your photos quite a bit of marble on the floors, etc. Am I correct? I ask because I took a really nasty fall years ago on a Carnival ship and spent the rest of the cruise in a wheelchair, due to marble floors that were wet. The ship looks beautiful and your pictures turned out really well. Would you consider taking a 4 year old on this ship? Thinking about it with the daughter and my grand daughter

There is marble, tile, and carpeting throughout the ship, but we didn't have any problems slipping, nor did we see any areas that were wet, where there wasn't a sign posted. And that was usually out on the pool deck, or up on Deck 15 at the back pool, but that was mainly because we got a lot of rain on our cruise. I wore sandals, and my husband had on some sort of flip flop looking shoes, and we didn't have any problems walking on the floors.

 

As far as children on the ship, we have several grandchildren, ages from 2 years up to 17 years, and I would have no problems taking any of them on this ship. The kids that we seen, seemed to be having a great time. We noticed that the children's area for the smaller children, was themed with smurfs. They had lots of toys for the kids to play with in the children's program. We seen a large toy box over-filled with all sorts of toys. My granddaughter that is 2, would have had a blast.

 

I will let you know that this ship is very long, and it takes a lot of walking to get from the back of the ship to the front. Make sure you have a stroller.

Very long.. Took a couple of days to find out about the outdoor smoking on 7...Did many laps to the garden before that.. Lol

We were on the same sailing and we were pleasantly surprised with the overall experience. Food was very good for the most part, as was the service, steaks in Eataly were excellent. The best pizza of any cruise line, and we've been on almost all of them.

 

Status match worked well for us as we got black card status and were one of the first people on the ship, had a free meal in Eataly, with no problem booking our desired day and time, and lots of other little perks.

 

The drink coupons worked out very well, but a caution for anyone who purchased them ahead of time. When we picked ours up in the casino, ours only had fifteen coupons, not eighteen. Evidently there was some problem with the vendor, which we would never have noticed if we didn't count them. Not sure how many people got ripped off three drinks and never noticed. We met George on day one and that was the only bar we ever went to. Everyone loved George.

 

We had an aft cabin on deck ten, huge balcony, but a lot of movement when at sea and tons of vibration when docking. The seas were not even rough, but there was a lot of movement in the aft and we are huge aft fans. I'm not sure I'd book an aft on the Divina again for that reason.

 

Overall I wouldn't hesitate to book another cruise with MSC.
