We have a check-in time of 10-1030am for the Carnival Liberty departing Galveston on 1/23/17 AND we purchased FTTF. Our documents state 1230-3pm boarding. If we check in at 10am what is there to do after going thru screening until we board at 1230-3pm? Is there wifi in the terminal? A bar maybe hehe? At least a comfortable chair or even an uncomfortable one? Or are we literally standing in line from 10am to possibly 3pm?? Thanks for any insight.

First of all, you should be asking this on the board here for Carnival, located under Cruise Lines A-O.

You can enter the terminal at 1000 and be checked in. But if you have FTTF, you can arrive any time and walk right in. You might arrive at noon and not have to wait so long for boarding. Then you will sit in chairs until they start boarding. I have never been in a Carnival terminal that had any type facilities other than a restroom. When they start boarding, Wedding parties will go first, then diamond/platinum. Then FTTF. They will start boarding when the ship tells them they are ready for new passengers. EM

The previous reply gave you accurate information :)

We have sailed from Galveston twice (with FTTF) since they implemented the staggered check in times. When we cruise in again January, with FTTF, we are NOT going to the port before 11:30. We found that even with the new check in times, that the port is just too chaotic between 10 and 11. Even though the time slots are capped, I still think those early ones are the fullest and sometimes you still have people leaving the terminal from the previous cruise at 10am.

By showing up at 11:30 we will spend far less time waiting in a crowd, which is always my goal :o
