DougH Posted November 8, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 8, 2016 (edited) I have a friend sailing soon on the Crown Princess and they have an overnight stay in Cabo San Lucas. Just wondering how that works, do they stay anchored and the tenders run all night? Or do they shut down from lets say Midnight to 6am. If they stay in the harbor I'm assuming the casino and shops will be closed. Or do they sail way at lets say 6pm and return again at 6am so they can open shops and casino? I believe this is their only port stop. Edited November 8, 2016 by DougH

I believe this is their only port stop. We were on Sapphire Princess a few years back and did an overnight in Cabo. Tender service stopped around midnight and resumed again in the morning. We were at anchor all night. We did enjoy a late evening at Cabo Wabo listening to the house band. Good times... Interestingly, a Carnival ship was also overnighting, but they opted to sail and come back in the morning, presumably to be able to open the casino. f-mattox Posted November 8, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 8, 2016 I've heard that they stay anchored in the harbor; and I've heard that they go for a little sail to open the casino. Staying in the harbor sounds more like Princess. One thing everybody agrees on: the tenders don't run all night.
jennybenny Posted November 8, 2016 #4 Share Posted November 8, 2016 Fun!! I love extra time in Cabo. We had an overnight in Cabo when sailing Disney. We had to be back earlier than midnight and then could leave again in the early morning. It was great having a full day in Cabo!
Pam in CA Posted November 8, 2016 #5 Share Posted November 8, 2016 Yes, the ship stays anchored in the harbor. As I remember (took this cruise a year ago), tenders stop at midnight and resume at 6am. I'd have to double check the exact times. You wouldn't want to be in Cabo later than midnight anyway.
Truthhearts Posted November 8, 2016 #6 Share Posted November 8, 2016 Would it be possible to hire a private tender in cabo to return to the ship after midnight?
Pam in CA Posted November 8, 2016 #7 Share Posted November 8, 2016 (edited) No because the ship's Security will not be there and the door will be closed. Of course, you could check on the cost for Princess to provide Security clearance just for you but I suspect it'll be more than the cost of the cruise. Shmoo here Posted November 8, 2016 #8 Share Posted November 8, 2016 I'll just toss in here - if you opt to stay ashore, and the weather turns bad, so that the tenders can't run the next day, it's on you to get back home.
Truthhearts Posted November 8, 2016 #9 Share Posted November 8, 2016 Aww, Cabo just starts getting fun after midnight! :D But thanks I'm definitely going to keep that in mind!
