I just looked up dean's taxi but there are not prices listed. If we wanted to go to a beach for a couple hours and then hit a few sightseeing spots, what would be the general ballpark price for a private driver?

Where can I get a list of drivers that we could use maybe for a few hours? I'd rather have something in place ahead of time than to have to just approach a cab when we get off the ship and ask about hiring them for half a day.

There isn't a published list, but I have used a few that I like because they speak clearly and go out of their way to provide you with a good experience instead of just doing the basics.

There are many great taxi drivers on St Thomas, but here is a list of ones that I have either used or met and liked. There are others that are highly recommended on cruisecritic, but I have never met them. No preferential order.

You can just email or call Dean's for his prices.

 

When we used Stanley Coram several years ago we paid $25pp which was in line with other destinations. May be a little more now.

True, and there is a benefit to booking ahead and having a driver looking for you that you also mentioned. Nice that seeking out a driver when you arrive.

 

You don't need to go through the ship or with a large group to get that option. There are well-regarded private drivers that will give you a custom tour and drop you at Sapphire like Deans Taxi -
