Is there any free wifi in the port areas for southern Caribbean cruises? ie Aruba, Curacao Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Kits, St. Maarten....

The quick answer is . . . yes, maybe, probably, etc. BUT, is it worth the time and effort to chase these wi-fi spots compared to seeing and exploring the sights and options in these locations?? Your choice!

Super enjoyed Aruba, Curacao and Barbados. St. Maarten does get too, too crowded and busy with so many ships and the mobs landing there each day. Have not yet been to St. Lucia and St. Kits, but look forward to visits there.

From our Jan. 25-Feb. 20, 2015, Amazon River-Caribbean combo sailing over 26 days that started in Barbados, here is the link below to that live/blog. Lots of great visuals from this amazing Brazil river and these various Caribbean Islands (Dutch ABC's, St. Barts, Dominica, Grenada, etc.) that we experienced. Check it out at:

In Aruba Starbucks in the mall is free. About 10 minutes from the ship.

In Curacao there is free public wifi in the downtown on the street.

Barbados the bar at the port is free for the price of a beer.

If you want free wifi in port, any of the crew can help you out on where to go.

Appreciate these excellent suggestions' date=' [b']especially in asking the staff. [/b] They have been in these ports many times and can be very helpful with ideas for good wi-fi locations.

We usually just ask do you have wifi if we buy a drink and it's usually a yes. It's so much faster than the ship and for the price of a couple drinks we can jump on our phones and check email, check on our business and check on kids etc and then back to vacation :)

In Curaçao you will find free wifi in the shelter as you walk off the ship near the gate. Assuming you are docked outside the bridge.

In St. Kitts we were able sit on our balcony and get it right from shore in the little park area.

We always stop for a drink along board walk/Front St. in St. Marten and get a code included.

Several ports offer it right in the port terminal. As mentioned, just ask your room steward or another staff member. They know the quieter less busy spots.
