Liberty to Valor switch, booking unavailable

Hello!

I was wondering if any one else was having the same issue I was. We booked our first cruise and are very excited about it for March 2017. We got the email about the change to Valor, we're cool without that. For the last two days we've gone to check our booking and look into the excursions. Each time we've logged in, it asks for the booking number and information, then takes us to the home page of Carnival. I don't want our reservation to be lost, and I haven't called since I know they are probably being bombarded with calls at the moment. So I thought I'd post here and see if anyone else is in the same boat first.

Also, we booked for an inside room, and we're wanting to change that to a balcony. Can we do that online? Should we cancel and rebook? What's the best thing to do for upgrading?

Thank you!

The bookings are unavailable to view online while they are updating everything. Carnival has said that they will be finished by the end of November, though someone on my December 17th sailing was told that ours would be accessible early next week.

As far as I know, you would need to call to change your cabin.

That same email you received said things will be offline until switched and they hope to have everything switched over by the end of November (I know this because I received the same email). Don't worry, your reservation isn't going anywhere and once they get everything switched, you'll be able to make changes as needed.

"Sit back and relax...we'll be doing all the work. Affected sailings are now temporarily closed in the system as our team prepares to make the necessary changes. This means that you, nor our contact center, will be able to make any modifications until it has been moved over to Carnival Valor.

We will do everything possible to match your current accommodations. Fly2Fun flights, transfers and other vacation components such as dining, pre-paid gratuities, shore excursions, Fun Shop items and Spa reservations will be maintained on the booking.

We anticipate our work to be completed by the end of November. A confirmation with your stateroom assignment) will be sent to you as soon as we are finished."

I am booked on the Valor for the December 11 sailing which is being cut short by a day because of the ship change and even my booking isn't accessible. I called and they said no worries, they will be available by the end of the month. Not sure why it's affected because we were never booked on Liberty, booked on Valor from the beginning and STILL on Valor. Maybe because our cruise was cut short?

I booked a February Valor cruise with another couple in two cabins. I am hoping they still keep the cabin numbers the same. I am concerned because when they first announced it. I saw the Liberty booking and my cabin changed to a location (on the same deck) that I wasn't happy with.

I don't know why that would have changed because deck 7 is identical on both ships.

I guess I will see where we end up when the smoke clears.

Good luck to all

Bon Voyage

I'm so glad to see that others are in the same boat! I realize that the email said everything would be completed by the end of November, and for a couple days after receiving the email, I was still able to view my booking. I just wanted peace of mind that others were having the same issue. Thank's so much!

Just give Carnival time to do their thing with regard to this situation. I use a travel agent and am interested on making a booking in mid-January. Even my travel agent is unable to obtain any information about the new sailings on Liberty at this time.

Maybe I am being too much of an optimist, but I am thinking with the hassles and issues, the pricing may drop a bit.

DH, kids and I are on the December 17th Valor cruise out of Galveston. I have called 2-4 times double checking things and the CCL reps and even higher up managers tell me that they will handle it all. The ships ARE very close to the same but for example the cabin we had on the Liberty is NOT the same on the Valor. ON the Liberty it holds 4 and on the Valor it holds 3 so legally they can not put me in that room. They have assured me that they will find me the same category OR BETTER no matter what. Same thing with the shore excursions... they will refund them and then repurchase them and it will all be taken care of. They quote "Sit back and relax"... Well that is EASIER SAID THAN DONE for the crazy OCD planner like myself. BUT... I am trying!

This is a BIG HOT MESS and I am just hoping it will all work out. I do believe they will take care of all of us but I do not see any compensation being given at this point. :(

Just because the layout is the same doesn't mean the cabin capacity is the same. A 2 person cabin on one may hold 3 or 4 on the other and they need it for a party with larger occupancy.

For a couple days I could still see my booking and it said Valor now instead of Liberty and it was the same cabin number so we'll see once everything shakes out. As long as I'm still in a midship balcony on a floor not directly above the casino or below the lido I'm golden.

We are on that sailing too. I'm so ready!!

Oh gosh, I'm ready too! We have so much going on in the next few weeks that I'm hoping the time just flies by. This is our second attempt at our first cruise (last one cancelled in 2011 because I had serious pregnancy complications) and I want it to go well!

Spa charges have been credited back to our credit card now so I take it those didn't move over. Too bad. Not sure we will rebook FTTF. :(

My FTTF charge and excursion charges were refunded to me but now I see the FTTF charge has been applied (so the credit and charge cancel each other out.) I assume the excursion charge will follow. I think it's just taking a while to sort out.

Yes. After looking this AM, FTTF has been charged again but no spa treatments.

Copied from Carnival Website:

Important Update: During our Carnival Liberty/Carnival Valor ship change process, some guests received a cancellation notice regarding cancelled pre-sale items, i.e., shore excursions, beverage packages, Faster to the Fun, Fun Shop purchases, Carnival Live, etc. Rest assured, our team will reinstate all pre-sale items at the original purchased price. We kindly ask that you refrain from rebooking any pre-sales to avoid double bookings. Thank you for your patience as our team completes this work.

Just got my FTTF credit applied to my CC today. I'm not sure why that was cancelled and didn't just move over.

I'm just hoping the spa reservations move over...
