CruisinHoneymooners Posted November 21, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 21, 2016 We plan to purchase the bottomless bubbles package for my son when we cruise in March. If I recall correctly from our long-ago cruise, drinks for this package were gotten at the bars around the ships. Is this still accurate? If so, are there restrictions to kids being able to get drinks - do they have to have an adult with them to go up to the bar? Also, how does the drink package work with the kids club? If my son decides to do any of the kid club dinners, would he be able to use the package while with the club to get juice to have with his dinner? firemanbobswife Posted November 21, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 21, 2016 You still have to get drinks at the bar and as long it's not one that says no one underaged is allowed in, they do not need to be accompanied. As far as the kids club dinners, it's been a long time since mine were little, but the couple times they ate there I think they just got them lemonade from the buffet because that's where they went and there's no bar in there. If your kids are old enough to sign themselves in and out of the clubs, then they may let them go get a drink on their own and come back. I really don't know. jdoc2010 Posted November 21, 2016 #4 Share Posted November 21, 2016 The kids can walk right up to the bars outside the casinos, on the lido decks and anywhere else there is not a published 21 over sign. During kids camp, there isnt much opportunity for the kids to use the bottomless bubbles as much of the day is prrescheduled and they go in groups. Also, I do not purchase the carnival insulated refill cup for my kids. They lose them and we never see them again.
asalligo Posted November 21, 2016 #5 Share Posted November 21, 2016 (edited) No, they can order all by themselves, no adult needed. I did find that when she was younger my daughter would sometimes get ignored for long periods of time at the bar and that I would have to walk up and get their attention to get her coke ordered. I discussed with her how she might consider finding another bar when they are really busy like on the pool deck on a sunny afternoon. isaiahsnana Posted November 21, 2016 #6 Share Posted November 21, 2016 (edited) My grandson who was 12 on our last cruise, always picks out an out of the way bar and makes friends with one or two of the bar tenders who always remember him after the first day - they often give him his drink and one for his younger brother, who is with him sometimes but doesn't drink enough soda to warrant getting him his own package because he is usually in kids club. The first cruise I took him on was at age 9 and he insisted on getting a $10 bill the last cruise evening so he could tip his favorite bar tender - he was pleased to be able to do it and the bar tender acted like it was a $100 bill when thanking my grandson! RW20 Posted November 22, 2016 #8 Share Posted November 22, 2016 In January my 7 year old would go get his own drinks from the bar. He thought it was pretty cool!

Purvis1231 Posted November 24, 2016 #11 Share Posted November 24, 2016 I just got off the Fantasy, I notice that the kids club diner was held at the Lido buffet and I saw several of the kids going to the bar in the buffet area to get soda. (I never saw a kids getting juice.)
