wizdiz Posted November 29, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 29, 2016 I bid and just got a notice that I was upgraded from an inside to my shock a Spa Balcony. My question is since was upgraded to this via the upgrade program, Will I get the spa pass? I would like to assume yes.
hawkeyetlse Posted November 29, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 29, 2016 Yes. There are other cruise lines that don't include this if you get upgraded to a spa stateroom, but NCL does.
wizdiz Posted November 29, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted November 29, 2016 Thanks. I called NCL to confirm and you are correct!
hawkeyetlse Posted November 29, 2016 #4 Share Posted November 29, 2016 Enjoy your upgrade! :) Would you willing to reveal how much you bid for it?
wizdiz Posted November 29, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted November 29, 2016 I will say this cruise was comped by the Casino at Sea program. I had initially bid $135. I just upped my bid to $200 on Thanksgiving morning because really wanted a balcony and thought maybe that would get my bid accepted.
cruising_scientist25 Posted November 29, 2016 #6 Share Posted November 29, 2016 Can someone explain what the bid process is? I booked an inside guarantee on the Breakaway for my Dec 18 sailing, and got put on deck 12 an I1 category. I'm sorta curious as to what the price would be for an upgraded room, but I have no idea what the bid process is or how it works. Thanks in advance. I think a few days after booking my cruise I got an email from NCL saying I could bid on a couple category upgrades. Because I booked an inside I was able to bid on Oceanview and Balcony. I initially set my bids didn't hear anything back. Was getting anxious so upped my bid and just got notice today I was upgraded. I leave Dec 4. That was my experience
wizdiz Posted November 29, 2016 Author #8 Share Posted November 29, 2016 Also when you put in your bid there is a arrow that rates your bid. I started with a fair bid and changed to good.

wizdiz Posted November 29, 2016 Author #10 Share Posted November 29, 2016 My dad (platinum) nor I (gold) have never received emails regarding the upsell. Is that normal? All I know is currently the bidding is only offered on a select number of ships. It is something new. So I believe currently only on Escape and the Getaway. I also have found out that some travel agents opt out so if you go through certain TA you won't be able to do the bidding.

We always book through NCL, but I haven't been on either of those ships. Thanks for the info.
