Newbie question: checking availability

Just start a booking for the sailing you want on Carnival's web site. When it comes to room selection for a category, go to each section (forward, mid, aft), and it will tell you how many rooms of that category are available on each deck.

Your best bet is to call Carnival. We use a PVP and he can tell us exactly which cabins are still available whereas the Carnival site will only tell you a certain number in each area.

Exactly right. And that number is 10 at the most. So if there are 20 available, it will only show 10. If you have a specific cabin in mind, call to see if it is available.

Right, buckeye, you only get shown 10 at a time. OP needs to also know that travel agencies will book blocks of rooms that they may or may not sell before they are returned to Carnival to offer. I am not truly sure if you will ever know how many cabins are available at a point in time...maybe except when you try to book one and it says "SOLD OUT"!
