dstellas Posted December 4, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 4, 2016 Does anyone have any advice, go early, go late?? Sent from my KFAPWI using Forums mobile app
Rare BirdTravels Posted December 4, 2016 #2 Share Posted December 4, 2016 We like to get our cruise as soon as possible and board at 11:30. If you want to do some sightseeing before you board, the late departure of the Pride of America allows you to do that.

We're going to be in Oahu for a week prior to the cruise and were hoping to board as early as possible, thanks. antiquehtr Posted December 4, 2016 #4 Share Posted December 4, 2016 We just returned from the Pride of America in November. We got to the ship around 11:15 and practically walked right on! Rooms were not ready until about 2 pm but no lines and no waiting in the terminal. We were a little disappointed in the food and we are Platinum cruisers on Norwegian. Also the staff aren't quite as good as the foreign folks. Great cruise-the tubing adventure on Kauai was the best-book early! terri
robbinsca Posted December 4, 2016 #5 Share Posted December 4, 2016 We wanted the time on the POA early because we knew with a port every day we wouldn't be spending time onboard during the week. Sent from my iPad using Forums
TifffanyD Posted December 4, 2016 #6 Share Posted December 4, 2016 Go early! They had all kinds of fun entertainment in the lobby prior to disembarkation - hawaiian musicians, hula dancers, coconut demonstrations, etc.
dstellas Posted December 4, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted December 4, 2016 Thank you all so very much, we are veteran cruisers with RCI but this is our first NCL cruise and our first Hawaiian vacation. Imalismom Posted December 4, 2016 #8 Share Posted December 4, 2016 We went at 10am, and did not stand in a very long luggage drop off line, but there was a line. We got on board with no problems, but it took an incredibly long time for them to call our deck rooms ready (deck 13). Seemed like we were one of the last decks called. We enjoyed a nice lunch in Cagneys, then explored the ship and watched the welcoming dancers in the lobby.
