obx_fintoo Posted December 7, 2016 #26 Share Posted December 7, 2016 Nice review! I am looking forward to boarding tomorrow! Hi, Thanks for the review and the photos too. Your little guy is just adorable! Our son is new to Carnival, he's an Entertainment Guest Host on ELation. Think Trivia, games, Bingo, etc. I'm hoping I'll see his cute mug on somebody's trip report photos. I booked us for March today though. :) I'll be sure to look for him and see if I can get a picture for you. Does he know about March or is it a surprise? (Wouldn't want to spoil it!)
The4Cruisers Posted December 7, 2016 #27 Share Posted December 7, 2016 I forget Magic was at PC. We were looking for a quick trip and didn't want to drive all the way down to PC (though ultimately we did end up in Orlando after convincing hubby we HAD to go to Disney [emoji23]) When we're back to cruising we will look. I'm sure we will be on a ship next year even though it's not in the plans Sent from my iPhone using Forums Yeah, it's not too much farther to get to PC from JAXport. Enjoy! knowfere Posted December 13, 2016 #28 Share Posted December 13, 2016 Did the Elation have the American Table menus? Also do you remember the name of the other show besides Divas? Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Forums We were on this cruise as well and I was BLOWN AWAY with the Epic Rock of the 80's & 90's show!!! I wanted to sit and watch the 2nd show right after the first. Loved it very much.
Jwglenn25 Posted December 15, 2016 #29 Share Posted December 15, 2016 kind of a long shot here but maybe i will get lucky. Any chance you or husband are bourbon drinkers? I know all of carnival fleet will carry makers and woodford but the past couple cruises all had Bookers at the Alchemy bar. I know the Elation doesn't have the Alchemy bar but i was wondering if you guys happen to be whisky drinkers and notice the selection. Thanks

I didn't notice at all. Your best bet would be the aft bar on promenade - the may have the best selection Sent from my iPhone using Forums

WebSlinger Posted December 20, 2016 #33 Share Posted December 20, 2016 (edited) Drinks/service - Had no problems getting drinks quickly. Didn't do cheers this time because you can't use it on HMC. Husband totally could have benefitted but I can't drink as much as I used to! Vouchers after 5 last day were easy to redeem. Bar tenders outside Cole Porter were fantastic and chatted the baby up whenever they saw him. So you can't use the cheers while in HMC? Sorry if it's a stupid question. I'm going on this cruise in April with my soon-to-be wife, and it's our first cruise, so we're not sure what to expect. Thanks! We had cheers and they flat out told us, we had to pay. This is one cruise, I wish I hadn't gotten the cheers, not just because of HMC, but things go wrong. You can use your S&S card, but you will be billed per drink. The Cheers program is only good when you are actually on the ship Edited December 20, 2016 by First and Ten

It was just getting in my way. I tried like crazy and I'll probably be dumb enough to do it again.

Suede Posted January 5, 2017 #39 Share Posted January 5, 2017 To the OP or any others, Is the entire casino smoking or just sections? I think it was on one side of the casino only.
myacuna Posted January 5, 2017 Author #40 Share Posted January 5, 2017 To the OP or any others, Is the entire casino smoking or just sections? It seemed to be the portion of the drama bar that butts up against the casino (so smokey on that part of the seating area and walkway too), and then a good portion of the slots? I gambled exactly 0 times this cruise so I didn't pay Too much attention, but it was very very smokey and the smell definitely stuck Sent from my iPhone using Forums

JawjaFatBoy Posted January 20, 2017 #43 Share Posted January 20, 2017 Enjoyed your review! Wife and I have settled on the Elation in November. We have been on several of the Fantasy class ships and enjoy them very much. The bigger ships are nice and have some stuff that the smaller ones don't, but I feel less crowded on the smaller ships. Really hoping the Elation picks up Guy's and Blue Iguana during dry dock. Since she's going to be in for almost a month, I'm betting she looks super nice when she hits the water again. bar10der421 Posted February 4, 2017 #45 Share Posted February 4, 2017 We enjoyed the Elation. The crew was awesome, liked the decor and don't mind the layout of the ship. Only saw one show, the entertainers were great, much better than a few previous cruises. Only complaint on the food is the corned beef at the deli and also found that on the Pride in October. Very fatty. Reuben's used to be my go to lunch but maybe not so much anymore. Enjoyed the pizza, much better than on the last several cruises. I did miss Guy's and the Blue Iguana. I enjoy the pools more on the newer ships....where you have the shallow areas to sit in. With the older pools you are either in or out if that makes sense. Disembarkation was the most organized I have ever experienced!! We are looking at the Magic for our next cruise (have always liked sailing from Port Canaveral and enjoyed the Breeze a few cruises ago), but would definitely choose a Fantasy class again if the homeport and itinerary were right!
