jenjes3 Posted November 7, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 7, 2005 Hi.. just a question about when everyone thinks is the best time to cruise the Mexican Riviera. We are thinking about October 2006. Anyone have any thoughts of the best time to visit for the best warm weather conditions? Is May or October a good time? When is the rainy season? I have heard people say that winter sometimes water can be colder.... Thank you all again! Karen
cruiserfan Posted November 7, 2005 #2 Share Posted November 7, 2005 We went in first week of October and the weather was very hot. Mostly in the 90s.... Not sure if this is the norm...
Iamthesea Posted November 7, 2005 #3 Share Posted November 7, 2005 We went the end of February/early March and the weather was PERFECT! Got to see the whales at that time, also. :D
springtxbill Posted November 7, 2005 #4 Share Posted November 7, 2005 Go in the winter or early spring or it will be too hot to enjoy.
CINCY40 Posted November 7, 2005 #5 Share Posted November 7, 2005 We leave December 10th. Anyone have any idea of how cool it will be? Has anyone gone at that time and seen whales or is it too early? Can't wait!!

I have heard people say that winter sometimes water can be colder.... Thank you all again! Karen We have been to the mexican riviera in both May and October. Weather leaving and returning to San Pedro was in the 70s on both cruises so comfortable but not "tropical". Definately shorts temps but I didnt go in the pools. Temps in Mexico were in the mid/high 80s in early May and the low 90s in mid october. October was a little more humid. We just made sure to wear light colored shirts when walking around town and carry a water bottle. Since some of the shops are air conditioned it was nice to duck into them for a cool down while browsing and shopping. I've heard the rainy season is September but dont know anyone who's gone then to confirm. Any other questions, just ask....
Sassy Chassis Posted November 7, 2005 #9 Share Posted November 7, 2005 We did the Mexican Riviera in December and the weather was great! It was only slightly chilly leaving Los Angeles and returning to it.
RDeagazio Posted November 7, 2005 #10 Share Posted November 7, 2005 I cruised on the Vision last Christmas, and the weather departing LA was sunny but cool. Once the sun went down it was chilly/cold. The first sea day was cool, but not bad and the weather in Mexico was hot. We did not see whales on this cruise but there were hundreds of dolphin feeding in the morning of the 1st sea day. I was on the Monarch last New Year's and there were about 5 whales swiming close to the ship.

truffles2 Posted November 7, 2005 #13 Share Posted November 7, 2005 We just went Oct. 16. The first sea day was verrrrry chilly and when there were clouds, it was actually cold. The last sea day was the same. The first two ports were very hot, Puerto Vallarta just right, first sea day coming back--just right.
