Kids birthday on Carnival

Hi Guys

We just booked a cruise with Carnival Legend, it will be over my son's 4th birthday. Are we able to order a custom cake made? Obviously for additional $$? Do they do anything special for kids birthdays?

Would you recommend to take 1 or 2 toys for him to open on the ship?

You can order a cake at cherry on top (from memory it was $25) and they will deliver to the main dining room. Just tell the maitre'd it's your child's birthday when you embark and they can organize decorations for you.

Taking a couple of small gifts for him would be a good idea, and also give him something new to play with. Also check out the shop onboard, they have some cute things for kids.

DD turned 4 on Carnival Spirit.

 

When she was asleep we put streamers all around the room and some on the door with a big number 4 out of streamers. She loved it and loved walking up to the door during the day to see it decorated for her.

 

We ordered a cake a few days before hand $7.95 for memory, so it must have gone up ALOT if it is now $25! We ordered it to arrive in the dining room. Our waiters, plus all waiters and passengers around sang happy birthday to her.

 

We bought on 2 presents so she had something to open and remember her special day.

Would you know if they would be able to decorate cake in umm unusual manner? like make it a garbage bin or garbage truck cake? :))

I don't think they do those sorts of cakes, but the photo I have attached shows the mud cake we got on board. May be better to contact carnival direct and see if they can do something for you.

Maybe bring a cake topper from home in case you can only get a standard cake shapes.

On our recent cruise on Legend, the girl on the table next to us had her 9th birthday. The mother purchased a cake from Cherry on Top but the waiters also brought her out a small white cake with multi coloured polka-dots. They made her a hat out of a clean napkin and they all sang to her. She loved our waiters and she was so happy, it was a nice touch.
