indy71 Posted December 21, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 21, 2016 I have seen several reviews describing the rental places as a "zoo" on embarkation day in Port Canaveral. Can anyone provide tips to avoid this? Is there a certain company where this process is handled more efficiently? Is there a better time to return the car? Any comments about your good experiences would be appreciated!
Capt_BJ Posted December 21, 2016 #2 Share Posted December 21, 2016 (edited) Saturday is the problem too many big ships other days not nearly as much of an issue and avoiding the morning crush is a good idea .... crowd early is all the folks getting off ships wanting a car NOW with the folks about to sail and want to be first on board adding to the rush ... later in the day both of these crowds are gone. indy71 Posted December 22, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted December 22, 2016 Thank you, Capt BJ. We sail on Sunday, so hopefully it will be a little less congested. What do you think is a reasonable time to go? I was hoping for around 10:30. Do you think it's too early?
Capt_BJ Posted December 22, 2016 #4 Share Posted December 22, 2016 typically I wait 'til 12:30 or even later .... usually the line is completely gone and I can be onboard in less than 30 minutes from parking ... and usually can go straight to my room to drop carry-ons they're still serving lunch altho I typically eat in town b4
