Any updates on Eat Drink Play substitutions?

There have been a couple different threads about how substitutions are being handled, if any, with the Eat Drink and Play promotion.

I have an upcoming cruise and would like to get some recent experiences from other passengers.

My wife and I do not drink so the two bottles of wine are not of value. Has anyone successfully been able to swap out the wine for something other than water bottles? Has anyone else been successful with doing any types of substitutions and how did they do that?

Yes. I am aware that this is a promotion and I'm not entitled to anything other than what the promotion is. Yes. I am aware that I could give these to other people if I wanted to. I'm just trying to understand what exceptions are being made and who's been successful with them.

Yep. I'm familiar with each of the promotions are. Just looking for people who are able to successfully substitute.

What would you sub the soda for? The eat maybe, but we didn't try!

Fair question. I would be happy just getting the value of the wine in other drinks. I know this is to specific in terms of a solution but let's say that $10 is the value of the wine, if I could get that as credit for soft drinks or other non-alcoholic drinks I would be pretty happy. I don't feel like I would need them to swap out a bottle of wine for an entire soda package.

My e/d/p promo was for a Boardwalk soda/lunch at JR/rock climb. No wine on a Harmony cruise[emoji12][emoji12][emoji12]...
And the e/d/p promo for Central Park balconies is:

-a complimentary lunch for two at Giovanni's Table, Jamie's Italian, Sabor or Johnny Rockets®.

-a [NOTE not 2] complimentary bottle of red wine welcomes your arrival.

-casino gaming lessons from an onboard expert.

The obvious substitution would be to switch CP e/d/p for Boardwalk e/d/p (or vice-versa). I have heard that SOME people have been successful switching out e/d/p packages in toto, but I can't prove that. IMO ask and hope for the best, but accept whatever you get.

We have only traveled on RCI once but have an Alaska cruise in June - how do you get the eat, drink, play package?

This promotion is for Neighborhood (Central Park and Boardwalk) Balconies on Oasis class ships only. No Oasis class to Alaska, so not available there. But Alaska is a GREAT cruise with lots to enjoy:)

We have a Ocean View balcony and Central Park balcony booked on Oasis for April.... I was aware of the eat, drink play package that we are to get for the CP balcony, however the 3 kids booked in that room are all under 21. Will they still give the bottle of wine to us for my husband and I to have?

  • 2 weeks later...

Just came back from Allure cruise. My kids were automatically given the soda package. I was originally told by C&A they would substitute the wine for daily water bottles, but they received the soda package. They already had Royal Replenish for them so no value to us in our case. Since I'm not a big drinker I tried to get something of equal value for the wine, but the front desk wouldn't substitute it. No big deal. We enjoyed the Eat component.
