MSC Mediterranean

Example -an American couple were seated with 2 Russian couples. They asked could they move as the other couples didn't speak English. .

I'm surprised to hear that.

In our case, they actually specifically seated us at a table with other Australian bookers, so catered for us very well. Given the ship had a minority of English speakers, that was quite a surprise. And I'd also heard from others that they arranged things that way, which makes sense given the wide variety of nationalities they serve.

We have been one their smaller ships the Armonia and Sinfonia, as well as the Orchestra and Divina (2).

Loved all the ships but Divina is my fav.

A larger vessel around 4200 people, but plenty of room and no waiting for meals at the bistro, plenty of areas to get food from.

Yes as 'down-unders' the European traits and manners are hard to adjust to, but you learn NOT to stand back, but barge in as they do, then all is OK.

We found the food pretty good, and they have their themed nights.

Entertainment was good, and the staff are pretty good if you treat them well, as most are Balinese, and we got on well with them because we treated them as equals and not someone to do your bidding as some Europeans and Americans expect.

Avoid Holiday seasons as kids sail for free and some can be right *******s.

Hope to sail on their new ship later this year if the prices come down a bit, 'the Sea side'. Venice to Miami. That is a nice trip ,around 22 days, if looking for a cheap relaxing holiday, look for repositioning cruises.

Off next week with Princess, should be good.

We have paid our deposits so no point worrying about it now. We will be out of European school holiday, and yes we do consider it dirt cheap. $813 AUD each for 10 nights balcony. So $81 pppd hotel, transport, food, entertainment and the enjoyment of spending time with lovely cruisers. I am married to a European so am aware of the "cultural" differences.

What a bargain for a balcony cabin, which will be perfect for a Med. cruise.

Your whole trip sounds wonderful - enjoy!
