KyleClark Posted January 2, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 2, 2017 I'm thinking about going to JVD but every You Tube video I look at JVD looks like a Drive-in for boats? Are there always a lot there? Is there an open area just for swimming? [YOUTUBE]sLL8AiflJFA[/YOUTUBE]
Cruisingwithoutthekids Posted January 2, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 2, 2017 The boats tend to anchor out in front of Soggy Dollar. Further to the left there is plenty of swimming space. The beach is beautiful, the vibe is a really good one. Sent from my iPad using Forums
ramey1911 Posted January 3, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 3, 2017 (edited) Boats aren't allowed next to the full beach from what I remember. People have to anchor and swim in, hence the main bar's name Soggy Dollar [emoji6] Jost is beautiful and very relaxed and fun. I went twice with friends during a week long stay in St. Thomas a few years ago and I'd go again in a heart beat [emoji41][emoji267][emoji484] Sent from my iPhone using Forums Edited January 3, 2017 by ramey1911
blue_water Posted January 3, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 3, 2017 Boats will be anchored and moored all day and centered around Soggy $. It gets very busy daily and even worse on weekends. There are daytrippers coming in from STT and STJ on the ferry, smaller and larger powerboats and cats, and there are a few cat operators out of Tortola that may stop in. The main draw is the beach bar scene. You can find a quieter spot past Seddie's place (One Love Bar), grab one of his bushwackers on the way.
