triptolemus Posted January 3, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 3, 2017 (edited) Thinking of booking a cruise to Alaska on the Pearl. Which would be side to have a balcony room on...port or starboard? Thanks! The only time it really matters all that much is in Glacier Bay. During the Glacier Bay transit, a US National Park Service ranger boards the ship and narrates the trip inward. This narration -- which can be heard while in your stateroom -- will somewhat match views on the port side of the ship, but not entirely. As you can see in the photo below, the views will be spectacular from either side. The other ports and inside passages offer equal views from both sides. If I had to pick one, I'd take port side. The Other Tom Posted January 3, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 3, 2017 Port if you're doing Glacier Bay and staying in your room, but you really need to be on deck for Glacier Bay. Doesn't matter if you're not doing Glacier Bay.

808cruisef Posted January 4, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 4, 2017 We did starboard since we were on deck for glacier bay and then they did a 360. We wanted the coastline for the cruise up to Canada. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
